In this video I try to demonstrate some tools offered in Blender by creating different objects.
Had to take a break from my other series I’ve got on the go.. something different this time.. bit of fun, maybe useful 🙂 thanks for visiting
I dont know why the video is showing up like this.. watch it on youtube perhaps.. thanks for stopping by though again 🙂
Edit: Thank you Shane! I didn’t notice that quote missing 🙂
This video describes some basics of edit mode for the beginner, how objects are constructed, where tools can be found and a couple of points to bear in mind before beginning to model more complex shapes.
Here we look at the different ways the camera can be positioned to our liking in order to take a render of the scene from exactly the place required. I will also demonstrate the use of a constraint to keep the camera always pointing in a particular direction.
This is part of a series I started but life didn’t let me finish for one reason or another, released anyway because I hope it may be helpful!
Here we take a look at the different ways to “transform” objects in Blender. That refers to Moving them about, and changing their size and rotation.

Here we spend a little bit of time looking at the way to get around the 3D scene, and a number of preferences which help in various ways to get things done

Starting from the beginning we take a look at setting up the interface and required editors for our particular task, what are “screens” or layouts and generally get a feel for how things work.

Nodes can be daunting if you’ve never used them before. In this video I try to explain some basics of how to use the Cycles material nodes to colour, overlay and combine a couple of different images using “factors” and also adding transparency.

Sometimes we would like to exclude or mask an area from being affected by texture painting. It’s possible to use the face masking button, however for more control it’s easy enough to paint or generate a second texture to mask the effect of the paint.

I really wasn’t sure what to call this shape. Hopefully the little techniques shown here will make it an interesting quick video, it’s quite an elegant shape I think.
I realise the 3D cursor could have been placed closer before doing the warp, this would have given such result with the need to use the alt + S – shrink / fatten tool, however gave the opportunity to show this in action.
People ask about the Blender theme I use.. It’s called “Dark Blue Gradient” there is a link to the download.
I hope the occasional flicker on the video isn’t too distracting – I’m not sure what is causing it right now.
